of paths and weeds

on the left, the weeds are taking over! on the right, the path clearing begins; I dont use weedkiller so I am cleaning them out with a sharp knife, when its done I will brush some new sand over the path to fill in the holes I have made.
children put to work, the turf coming out for the new stone path.

Good to see the garden serfs out in force. My serfs will be serving garden duty today, too.

Madcapmum, gald to hear it! because I have next week off work, this was my big plan, to do the path, but I have really hurt my back(its always grumbling anyway)so if the turf can get lifted, I can plod on with other things.

I need to put my serfs to work:)

Hope your back gets better! I have messed up my left foot and my right knee. I am falling apart!

Wildside, as soon s the path is finished I will post a photo, it needs concrete and weed barrier and stones, none of which have been purcahsed yet so it may not get finished this week.
Lowa, things often hurt in diagonals, I am most sore in right hip and left knee. if I sneeze or cough suddenly, my lower back gives way and I fall down, most embarasing!

had my serfs dig a bed for raspberries this spring... long and deep, as the soil here is very poor, and it's almost like container gardening underground. they still refer to it as 'Mum's mass grave'. morbid creatures, serfs.

take good care of your back. we only get one. i find long soaks in a hot tub with epsom salts help a lot. A glass of wine (in hand, not in the water) is also beneficial.
